    Marshall bluesbreaker BB-2 pedal!..question help??

Hello there i wonder if anyone can help me? im new to this forum so be gentle ha-ha!, I have just bought a Marshall (bluesbreaker BB2 pedal), and im using the boost mode and running it into the clean channel of my marshall amp, using an (epiphone 335 guitar)..even with the volume on the the pedal turned all the way down low to about vol 1 or 2 position ect..on the (boost mode) it starts to breakup kinda like a slight fizz sound is this normal??..i have the volume on the guitar turned all the way up to ten so maybe that's why??..obviously if i turn the volume down on the guitar it starts to cleanup and there's not much breakup, it also seems to do this in blues mode too but with the volume turned up full and with the drive turned all the way down to 0?? i can still hear some slight breakup..it's not really loud but it's there!.. what i want to know tho is this normal with this pedal? or with boost pedals in general? if anyone..could give me some info..will be much appreciated cheers....

    Hi there,

All ODs react slightly differently to low gain, clean-up etc. The BB2 may be one of those where a light fizz is always there. You may be confused about ODs and boosts, they are not always the same! ODs are used to gain, not clean boost per se, so dont expect sqeaky clean when on low gain (though some DO do this).

There is nothing wrong with it, its just not a particular pedal where you can get clean boost. There are dedicated clean boosts, like the MI Audio boost N Buff if that is what you need.
Dont bore us.....get to the chorus....

The BB2 has 2 modes, mode 1 is a clean boost whereby only the volume control is utilised to control the level of boost and mode 2 is the same as the old Bluesbreaker O/D pedal which which is a conventional "blues" type overdrive.

If you have your amp set clean and you switch the pedal on in boost mode even set on 2, in the words of Nigel Tuffnel, "its still 2 louder innit", and the front end will break up. When you back off the guitar volume you lower the signal into the pedal and compensate for the boost into the front end and the tone will clean up
