Talking Tips for Band Practice from Joe Satriani

You can tell he has never been in a real band
Joe Satriani's 5 tips for perfect band rehearsals | MusicRadar.com
Seriously do not turn up late just to make the others "pleased to see you and get their shit out of the way" their shit will involve discussing "where is that guitar playing twat? He knows we are paying for this room from 6pm"

And whatever you do, never ever let the bloody singer get away with turning up late. It will only give him delusions of grandure and they are all full of shit to start with so dont encourage them!!!!

And dont just turn up and start playing a song "as just another way of speaking" to get a point across, thats just bloody rude

    Have fun

that is all really, really, bad advice. i would almost suspect he was joking, but like Mick said, its fairly obvious hes never been in a 'real' band before

Guys---It's a joke--Satch is yankin' everybody's chain, including Sammy and Chad--

He's a prankster and joker--So is everybody in his band--he is screwing with everybody-

He could be reading your responses and laughing at you right now-

It's just good time, party music--Not much of that being made lately-

I have the entire disc--At first, the 2 or 3 commercial songs are what jumped out at me--Nothing really stellar or earth shaking--Give the disc a listen in you car on a long drive--which is always how I like to give something new a good listen--There are a few songs that are really good one you dig into them and hear everything that is going on--

I like "Sexy Little thing"--It has a really cool break with a little solo that just fits--nothing special but the song really sounds good when you listen to it with a musician's ear--It has something going on that is deeper than what you hear the first 3 or 4 times you hear it-

I think if Joe Satriani is pulling our legs, then he should at least say so at the end of his post on musicradar.com. Otherwise, noone will believe whatever he says. We can conclude that he has never been in a real band. Forget his advice. Follow Slickster's advice instead.
