WB pickups. Habaneros to be specific. The clean tone is polite yet authoritative, but when you crank 'em they're loud, growling rock n' roll attitude. They have a good focused sound either way and they don't get muddy.

Gibson pickups for the passive stuff.

(I own the BB 1 and 2 set, BB pro set, 490/498 set, and a P-94...giggles!)

I'm kinda torn on the Actives though....SD Blackouts are killer, but EMG has more accessories....the overall product from them is probably a wee bit better if you take into account the wiring kits and sheer amount of options they offer.

I voted Seymour Duncan. I just love the JB/59 combo.

Gibson has some very good pickups. The BB Pro comes to mind. The 57 aren't bad, but a little low on output for my tastes.
I think the 500T/496R pair works great for an Explorer, but it doesn't cut it in a Les Paul.

I think it has something to do with the prices they charge.

Either way, I still wouldn't mind checking out a set of Iommis someday...

I pulled out my WCR Darkburst Set for Haeussel 1959 Boutiques handwound, skatterwound made in Germany. They are such good quite expensive like WCRs but worked better then the DBset.
    No - I don't look back!
