  1. Hm...Well I know DW's would be worth it! And yeah, I tend to like Sabian Cymbals for Hard Rock/Metal But I prefer Meinl for more Acoustic or lighter playing styles.
I hope your drummer finds a good set that will hold up! And he should really check out Sabian Cymbals! They're great.

    Night bro!
  2. Yeah....he's gonna be forkin' out some cash...that's for certain. I know he wants Orange County drums (he'd probably have a tough time scrapin' together enough cash for DW's.) He's even looking at a Pearl as something to get him by at this point. As far as cymbals...he told me he likes the Sabians as he's not so much a tone drummer as someone who needs a kit that can hold up to abuse...and his complaint on the Ziljians and the Paisties were that the Ziljians cracked easily and the Paisties would do weird things if left out in the sun.
  3. Well I replied on the Drum Set and Cymbal Threads you made.
I prefer Truth Kits with Meinl or Sabian Cymbals. I think I gave the exact Cymbals in the Thread?

Oh and I used to play for 4 years. I used DDrum with Evans heads at the time cause I couldn't afford Truth. But I know a decent amount about Drums and even more about Guitar! :-)
  4. Thanks.

It's not so much me as my drummer is getting ready to get into another set. He's a great drummer..but he's a big guy...and the kit he is using now is falling apart underneath him. (I don't even think it's a question of how hard he hits...it's just that he's a big dude.)

His style is really cool. His power strokes come off his feet...and he can hit with his hands...but he seems like he's more of a finesse guy on that side of things. Killer timing and dynamics.

But...his kit is having some issues. Last week one of the legs off of his bass drum fell off. His bass pedal also keeps falling apart (The spring pops off)...

I wish him luck. I hope he gets something that can last. As for me drumming...I tried it...I wasn't coordinated enough. I am probably gonna have to stick with guitar, occasional bass and some singin'.

    Do you play?
  5. Thank you Sentry!
Seen you a lot of MLP and you seem to be one of the few active members on this thread I know or at least familiar with...
    How's the Drumming going?
  6. Hey! Thanks for the Add!
