Those 3 pedals would be a good choice. Some type of delay is very handy for a lot of Christian rock (just think about all those songs with that "U2 sound" LOL). All the electric guitarist at my church usually will have these basic pedals: delay, (either or) chorus/flange, compressor, tremolo (not used as often but some times), and an overdrive (or maybe overdrive plus dirty unless they are using their amp to get this). Oh, down the road a wah is handy for some subtle effects (slow sweep during a solo or maybe just to set part way and leave to modify the tone). I hope that helps. I will tell you that I've found you end up using almost all the different types of effects at least ONCE if you play enough different Christian songs. However, MOST of the modern songs will utilize the 2-3 out of the 5 or so pedals mentioned above so you can get by with a smaller board for most stuff. But being a gear head I've ended up with a pedalboard that has at least one of EVERYTHING (LOL) on it so I can cover anything that may come along. That's how I ended up with this monster: http://www.mcquain.com/lespaul/PedalBoard.jpg (yes, it is a back breaker - made out of 1/2" covered plywood and all the other guys give me a hard time saying I have more junk than the drummer LOL).
Hey man, I'm guessing through your signature taht you play Christian rock right? I was just wondering, what pedals do you suggest starting with to get a Planetshakers/Hillsong sound? I was thinking of getting a Flanger first then going and searhing for something like a compressor or chorus pedal. Cheers, Andrew
