Help With Studio! PLEASE HELP IM LOST

Okay im making a studio, i bought a macbook pro 13" screen. Im gonna use garageband since i know how to. Okay so this laptop doesnt have a mic input, just an audio output jackfor headphones. I need to know how i would connect a MIXER to my new Mac. With my other computer i used to take 2 RCA cables i would put one from the mixer into line input on the computer and the other from the mixer into the headphone jack on the computer, so i could hear what im singing/rapping over. So basically I need someone to tell me exactly what i need to buy in order to record through a condensor mic, while (a) being able to hear my voice through the headphones as i talk in the mic, and (b) hearing what im dubbing my voice over, like hearing what my computer is playing through garageband, you know so i can hear the music ill be singing along with so i know when to come in. I feel like its impossible since the computer only puts sound through the internal speakers or the output jack, PLEASE HELP. If you even understand, its kind of complicated. Hope it made since, just tell me what i need to get this studio going, i need to get it going fast. ANYTHING HELPS

you need an audio recording sound card. you'd plug your outs from the mixer into however many ins on your sound card. m-audio makes ones that a lot of people use.

You can get a 1/4" stereo - 1/8" stereo plug for cheap. Run your line out for recording, and then connect some monitors to your speaker outs.
