Drum samples

Not sure whether this should be here or in the drum section but here goes...

Can anyone recomend a website to download drum samples for DAW recording, free if possible?

I don't know any sites, but I can tell you I have a Boss DR-880 and it's pretty cool. Lots of presets, plus you can program a lot of your own stuff in there, too. It also has Midi, but I haven't messed around much with that.

Either or! Real samples would be best I think, I have not turned away from the idea of a drum machine though

i have the dr 880 as well and it's a beautiful drum machine. easy to use, accepts real time or programmed input. and it sounds pretty close to real. it's not there, quite, but close

Hmmmmm I'm thinking that might be the way to go Nicole. I am old fashoined when it comes to gear and prefer a lump of hardware in front of me than downloading some mystical magic software from t'interweb

that's one thing it will do which software won't. hardware you have something in your hands that gas can measure and weigh. software, well, nothing to it really lolol.

edit: if you need some samples of the dr rhythm 880 i have lot's of stuff done with it before adding live drums.

I was going to add that. Pretty much all of my songs were done with the 880. If you hit my myspace page, you'll get to hear it in action. Just hide your dogs, as they tend to react abnormally to my music.

Yeah, that is true. bad example. I don't have access to those MP3s right now, so hopefully this sample will satisfy your needs.

Addictive Drums is a kick ass program.... but not free....they sound great though.
