I picked this up at a local music store about two months ago. I can't seem to find out much about the Cortez brand except all were made in japan and were a precurser to Jack Westheimer's Cort brand.

I currently do not own a single Japanese guitar--I have owned some nice ones in the past--

Charvels, A set Neck (actually, neck through) Jackson Dinky---pastel Pink!!!!! And old Burny 67 RI V----

    They were all great-

Last one I owned was a MIJ Fender Tele--

I just bought this 1978 Heerby Explorer last night for less than 10 gallons of gas. Man i have been getting some insanley good finds for the past 2 years. The guitar is practicaly new and has the most high quality flame maple top and fine rosewood fretboard i have seen in a while. Here are some pics and a link to my website:

I bought this Heerby Explorer last night for less than even i believe. $100.00 1:00 am in the morning from an old Japanese guy off CL. It has an incredible tiger flame maple cap and the rosewood fretboard that is of very high quality. No fret wear or dings whatsoever. One piece Mahogany body with cream binding and set neck. I still cant believe what i am looking at. It plays like a dream. It is dated 1978. More pictures at my website:
