Whats makes a Taylor Acoustic Guitar, a Taylor?

I hear alot of people wonder why guitars are priced so high. I know some things that are different like: Wood used, the way it was made, it holds in tune longer, Built to last, Sound difference. But thats not "deep enough" for me. I've tried going to some sites to figure it out but im not getting much.

First, welcome to GT. Glad to have you. Have you ever taken time to sit down with a Taylor in a store? It would kinda answer your question if you do. It is a combonation of not only tone woods, but really high quality workmanship. Taylor guitars are among the highest scoring when it comes to fit, finish, and playability. The acoustics easily rival the quality of a Gibson or Martin Acoustic. I personally still prefer Martin for acoustic guitars, but Taylor is a very nice guitar.

Like Bear said-The secret of Taylor, and any other high end acoustic is both tone woods and build quality--And one more thing-The lack of a thick finish and a globs of heavy glue--

Taylor, Martin, Breedlove and other more expensive acoustics have the full package--

Myself, like Bear, prefer Martin Acoustics, or Martin styled acoustics, but Taylor rule the world in Acoustic/Electrics--I think Taylor sound the best when they are plugged in--I don't know why, but that's how my ears hear it-

I suggest you do as Bear said and visit a few stores and play all of the higher end acoustics, then compare them to the lesser priced ones and see how your ears hear it--
