I was around some Big name bands in Chicago all the time in the 80's and loved the parties after the show's that most went on for day's but main influences are SRV and ZZ-TOP along with Iommi/Page and Joe Perry. P.S bank in the 80's Perry used to always play at a little bar in cook county, IL., named Haymakers, a real small place that he rocked-out in.
I cant really say any big name guy influenced me to pick up a guitar, it was actually my friends older brother. But the guys that made me want to play better were Page, angus young, slash and hendrix
Cut me some slack jack!

What if there were no hypothetical questions?
I'm a bit more of a rythm guy ... So guys like Brad Whitford & Malcolm Young are amazing to me !!!

Seems strange for a 15 year old to say Hendrix, Page and Clapton, but there you go!
I was fed up with music after a couple of really shitty band experiences, and I joined the military, so there wasn't much spare time left.
After a couple of months though, I got a Ted Nugent anthology and that completely revitalised my desire to play rock guitar.
I had sold off all my gear (handbuilt Jackson Dinky, Marshall Jubilee and 2210) so I had to start all over.
That's when I decided I would finally get a Les Paul. Started out with a couple of Studios (which I regret selling) and ended up with my current collection.
Michael Schenker is my ultimate guitar hero. Yes, he's a flake, but don't they say genius and insanity go hand in hand? When he is on, he's untouchable.
don't laugh....John Denver (I was about 5)
later on Slash and Joe Perry re-sparked my interest, and that has led to many other influences.

Jimmy Page
Tony Iommi
Ace Frehley
Angus Young
Originally Ace Frehely, when I was about 8. Then it was Steve Clark from Def Leppard, cuz he looked so damned cool with that White Custom, but really, all I've ever wanted to be as a player is Malcolm Young. It just doesn't get any better than him!
Well years ago when i started and i do mean many years ago, it was David Gilmour of Pink Floyd fame, now i find the one who inspires me is Zakk Wylde of Black Label Society....
I have loved zep since I can remember but I never thought I could do what page did so I can't say he inspired me to play. These guys inspired me in highschool and I thought I can do what they do!

david gilmour inspired me to play mostly. he ended up being a pretty heavy influence on my playing.
