My favorite musician would have to be a gutarist. Now the question is which one. I'll probably have to go with Eddie Van Halen, he's probably my favorite musician. All though, other gutarist come close.

Yes, his rendition of "Classical Gas" is very great.

Yeah he played it when I saw him and I was blown away!![]()
How would they be made "Radio-friendly"?
A couple of candidates for me :
Rory gallagher. Great guitarist, songwriter and very soulful singer.
Phil Lynott. See above, replace guitarist with bassist.
Duane Allman - Warren Haynes -
Hmmmm......
Jimmy Page
The lead guitarist from Dio's band
Yngwie Malmsteen
Zakk Wylde

Tom Scholz is pretty amazing. He can play guitar and keys really good.
He doesn't really suck. He's got a hell of a lot more talent than most people have.
But it all depends on what style you like. I usually like hard rock, but when that adrenaline kicks in, and also since I'm used to classical music, that neo-classical music is so fun to play. Listen to, not so much, but play, yes!
I will admit, I simply couldn't sit down and listen to an album by Yngwie. I like him because his songs are fun to play, and also because of his showmanship. Sure, it's a little glam-rock-ish, but it's cool. Like I said before, you can't say he sucks, because he is a great guitarist. He plays really well live. And the thing is with guitarists like Yngwie, the only way you can tell if their speed is really talent, or if it's just all made in the recording studio, is if you listen to them live. If they're great in the recording studio, but suck live, you can tell they're just posers.
But, Dragonforce is what sucks hard. And other bands like them. The guys who 7 year olds think are amazing but in the recording studio, they really just play one note, stop, play another, stop, and play another, stop, etc.
Then they just put it all together in the recording studio to make it seem real. That's why they can't play live, 'cus they can't really play.
I'm sorry about how long this post is, and how it kinda starts to ramble, but, the reason I like Yngwie is because I like neo-classical music. It's so fun to play. But it's unfair to say that he sucks simply because his style isn't appealing to you. He obviously is very talented, whether or not you like him.
End of rant.
