Was this the thread where I posted a shitload of Buckethead video's?

Yep - I really do! You don't I'm guessing? thats all right if you don't like Duane and/or Warren the voices in my head have been quiet lately, it should be fine.
Just kidding but anyone who doesn't think Duane could play needs to listen to the Allman Brothers at Fillmore East Live.
And if you don't like Warren Haynes that's fine too but your probably a banjo player though!![]()
Yngwie went down to Seattle, and he was lookin' for a soul to steal
he was in a bind, cus he was way behind
And he was willin' to make a deal
He saw this young man
soloin a geetar and tryin to be like slash
and Yngwie came up in pickup truck
and said "Dang, you sound more like Johnny Cash"
"I guess you didn't know it,
but I'm a geetar player, too,
and if you care to take a dare,
I'll make a bet with you."
"Now, you play a pretty good guitar, son
but give the shredder his due,
I bet a Gibson of gold against your soul
'cus I think I'm better than you."
The boy said "My name's Oilpit,
and it might be a sin,
but I won't take no shit, and I'll make you suck your spit,
'cus I'm the best there's ever been!"
Opie you tune your LP up
and play that Gibby hard,
cus Arpeggios from hell are in Seattle
and Yngwie deals the cards
And if you win
you get this shiny LP made of gold,
but if you lose,
Yngwie gets your soul......
Yngwie openned up his case
And he said "I'll start right off the bat"
And fire flew from his fingertips
As he tuned up his strat
And he swept the pick across the strings
And it made an evil hiss
Then a band of demons joined in
And it sounded something like this

When Yngwie finished Johnny said
"Well you're pretty good, old son
But sit down in that chair right there
And let me show you how its done"

I'm sorry LF but I'll take slash over buckethead any day of the week
Cut me some slack jack!
Oh shit, my bad. Whatever they all sound the same
Cut me some slack jack!
you know, im not a huge malmsteen fan, but he really finds a way to make a strat sound bigger then it usually does
YouTube - Yngwie Malmsteen-Red House
and while im at it
YouTube - Zakk Wylde - 5-1-93 - "Red House" (Hendrix Cover) New York
Led, I nominate you for funniest post on either the Gibby forums and here.
Brilliant!
Kenny, your right they all sound the same, and they all sound like shit (Yes, Zakk too)
P.S. I'm flattered but I don't think I'm .0000000000000213% as good as that Slash video.
Stay tuned for new signature...
Lol, Led, I second that nomination.
What if there were no hypothetical questions?
I'd have to say its a tie between Jimi Hendrix and Mike Bloomfield...
wow guys
to set things strait, I was exaggerating when I said all "shredders" sound the same, sorry. Yes I have listened to a few songs from buckethead, malmsteem etc. and yes they are talented but I'm not a real big fan of their music. No offense intended.
and mash, ease up on the delete button man
Cut me some slack jack!
It's not about that guys. Those were off topic discussions not pertaining to this thread.
May I suggest creating a "Rant" social group?
What if there were no hypothetical questions?
MASH, we love you, but you are slowly turning into the Gibson moderators.
And we do NOT want that.
Stay tuned for new signature...
Not intended but still. There could be a place for this type of conversation. I'll make one.
What if there were no hypothetical questions?
Grant Green
Paul Kossoff
Duane Allman-Dickey Betts
BB King
Hendrix
Good choices porterburst. I'm not real familiar with Grant Green, but I'll have to check some of his stuff on youtube later..
Stevie Ray Vaughan.
Jimmy Hendrix.
Popa Chubby.
Leslie West.
2 come to mind immediately...
Paul McCartney - probably the most all-around musical person I can think of. His song catalog alone is legendary but when you add in his singing, multiple instruments played, showmanship, etc. he is in a class by himself.
Dickey Betts - great guitarist, song writer and singer
