Re: My other love. Neo beware
So RyBass Where do you get the stuff to make you stomp-boxes. And what do you do, buy one so you can see what parts you need and then sell it?

awesome man! i love building pedals! that's a really nice and clean build you did! Here's the inside of one of mine i've built. Its a GGG build, tubes creamer clone with a few LDO/Clay Jones type mods done. Ive built all kinds, i really enjoy modding as well!
this is another shot of the outside of one that i built, sometimes i think painting them is my favorite part ![]() ![]()

rybass, i really love the paint job with those top hat knobs... i've thought about putting knobs usually fond out guitar bodies on a pedal but have never tried it. it REALLY works well with that one...

Re: My other love. Neo beware
swirl painting is really easy... you use water based acrylic paints and thin them down with a bit of water so they are runny and drippy... next you just pour them on and let gravity do the work, you can also take a stick with a point on the end to push the paint around and create different effects (like the one i posted above)... once it drys just spray on an acrylic sealer/clear coat and your good to go!

They have a great forum for helping builders there too. I just picked up a tremolo pedal that I'm planning on making a surf theme. There are a few sites where you can buy clone kits and all original kits and plenty of resources to find schematics of existing pedals. Al, that's a nice swirl! And the knobs work great with it. I want to try that out. I have a sketch book full of pedal finishing ideas. I'm big on guitar knobs b/c there are so many different kinds. Pedal knobs are kinda bland sometimes. |
