Recently made a trade--both parties are very happy-can't wait to get the guitar-
I happened to open a thread on another forum-a for sale thread--said nothing about trading but it was a guitar I was interested in, and figured I would do some window shopping-
ANyway, while scrolling down through the thread-after a few post-The seller mentioned a couple guitars he would trade for-I kept reading, for some unknown reason. I get down towards the bottom and the guy mentions he would also be interested in a strat---a BLACK strat--hmmmmm-I have had one for sale off and on for months--
Anyway, It was late, I sent the guy a message and explained I had a black strat and gave him a brief overview of the guitar, told him I was going to bed, and if he was interested to let me know and I would send pics and talk some more-
He was interested, after seeing pics, very interested--We sent PMs and e-mails back and forth, came up with a game plan and are currently working out the details.
I traded for a Les Paul Tribute--I have liked these since they came out, but felt they were a little over priced for a thin, worn finish---BUT, they are cool and I have nothing with real P-90's in it right now--
Well, I am happy, other guy is happy and I will have a NGD to me soon-
The reason I am posting this is simple--Anybody that has been paying attention, knows the used guitar market is very, very strange and has been for at least a year--Trying to sell something and not lose your butt, is a crap shoot-
I believe that trading is the way to go right now--if you can work a deal, and if you can find somebody with a good reputation that you trust.
Work out all the details, discuss what both of you expect-
After this deal is complete, and both parties have their guitars and are pleased--I will write a detailed account of the deal, how we went about doing it in a manner that protected both of us--
I am excited about this deal, as I will also be free to sell a couple guitars that I did not want to sell before--Now, with the tribute in my arsenal, I am cool with selling them-

Cograts Blues. I'm glad you got a guitar you can be happy with. Post pics and a tone report when you get it. I would like to know the pros and cons over the Strat. I am still on the look out for my Black Strat. If this is the Honeyburst on the other forum, I believe you will be happy. Good luck with it man.

Yes Bear,
It is one of the three honey burst Tributes that were posted on MLP-
The Black strat I traded is a great guitar--I just do not need 3 strats and I am planning on building a couple more strats next year--
I want another black strat, but I have some ideas as to a custom strat and that's what I will go with--
I am also building a Gary Moore replica strat next year--This, will be cool---
I also wanted one of the Tribute Les Pauls, but I thought they were over priced for what they are--
I am happy with this trade as is the other owner-
I will most likely be selling a couple other guitars too-as now that I will have a LEs PAul with P-90's in it, I can get rid of one of the guitars I was going to put P-90's in-
I'll post pics and a review-

Sound good Blues. I look forward to hearing how you like it. They are sweet. I should have kept my LP special when I had it.
