Fave Mexican Food! (will except cuisine from further south too)

So what is your favorite dish when you dine at the taqueria, taco truck or Mexican Restaurant? And what is your favorite place to dine? Or do you prefer cuisine from south of south of the border. I love al Pastor possibly my fave. Chile Rellenos, Refritos, Chile Verde, Ceveche, Lengua, Cabeza (or is it cabesa) Mole, I can go on but it's making me hungry...

oh jeez...

My favorite fast-food type of mexican is Chipotle (not really fast food though) - chicken burrito, rice, pinto beans, and hot salsa

If I'm at a good restaurant it can vary from tacos, burritos, chimmy changas and enchaladas. usually always chicken.

Isn't Chipotle owned by mcDonalds or something. You should hit a Taco truck next time you are in San Jo Yo!

Yup, they're owned by mickey-ds but it's completely different. They use organic stuff and they get their meat from real farms, not factories. Do you mean the trucks that go around to the workers??

Oh, if you ever go down to santa cruz, there is some VERY good mexican restaurants there.

Actually McD's used to have a controlling share of the company but they are an independent corp now. Those trucks that go around to the workers are "roach coaches" they sell sandwiches and other stuff Taco Trucks usually park in the same place every day, though some of them are "on tour"!

My fave taco truck in SF is at parked on Harrison near 19th st. My fave taqueria is Cancun on Mission at 19th, but Altena #2 at mission and 22nd st has some of the best al Pastor. And for fish tacos El Metate on Bryant at 22nd st. Fish tacos rule!

I don't think anyone that doesn't live in south FL will know what this is but it is a little place called Tijuana Flats. THE most amazing mexican food with a HUGE salsa bar. If you're ever down here check it out.

Ah yes now I remember. Haven't tried Ecuadorian Food yet, there aren't any Ecuadorian restaurants here in San Francisco, only Peruvian. Maybe one day there will be. Then I can try it, or maybe I'll just have to fly down there.

They are delicious... really... I live in Guayaquil wich is in the coast (35 min drive to the ocean)... but as the country is small I travel a lot to various cities (because of my job) and I have to say I like colder climate and the mountains better than the hot humid climate and the beach.

Ecuadorian food is delicious man, if I wanted to compare it to another country's food, I couldnt.

Re: Fave Mexican Food! (will except cuisine from further south too)

How about taco salad!!!!!

I started liking taco salad alot ever since I ate this one taco that really ticked me off because the shell was constantly breaking.

But taco salad is good alone, but with hot salsa and TONS of tabasco sauce (I just pour it on everywhere) it tastes delicious. But you'll need alot of water afterwards.

Speaking of tabasco sauce, the next time you guys have some, smell it. Doesn't it smell like spicy olives, or am I just weird like that?

Re: Fave Mexican Food! (will except cuisine from further south too)

Yeah Thundrgod I understand what you mean when you say you cant compare the food there. It's like when people say "It tastes like chicken" I hate that, only chicken tastes like chicken. They say that about Rabbit and Frog Legs, but rabbit tastes like rabbit and frogs like frogs. I love to cook and am always on the hunt for new recipes. I venture into the kitchen every night, and not just to grab a cold one out of the fridge, though I usually grab one while I'm there. Sorry I was wondering if your cooking was Coastal or Highland Style (something I read about online while trying to find an Ecuadorian Restaurant) or maybe a bit of both.

The entire $1 menu at Taco Bell!!! Mmmmm

NOT!!!

Some of the best Sonoran food is served right here in Phoenix, way too many good things to choose from. But if I have to, I'd say Baja style Camarones.

Camarones ala Diablo, Camarones Rancheros, Cocktail de Camarones. MMMMMMMMMMMMM!

Oh and Jimboy's is way better than the Bell for a chain restaurant.
