What kind of stuff are we talking about?
Soundproofing: so that no sound at all (or as little as possible) gets out of the room.
Sound treating: so that while you are in there playing your ears dont get tired and ultimately damaged (and your brain too man!).
The first is difficult... things can get really ugly (difficult and expensive) really fast, or you can spend a little money and find out it did you no good afterwards.
The second is easier, way easier.
